Please read and understand the following before registering for a class

General:

1. Class fees must be paid in full at the time of registration to reserve your spot. Space is reserved on first-come first-serve basis.

2. Supply lists will be given at the time of registration. Most classes also have sample quilts displayed in the shop.

3. Class fees are for instruction only and do not include materials for class, unless otherwise stated.

4. Students are required to bring; 1) a sewing machine in good working order, 2) machine accessories, & 3) basic sewing supplies to each class (unless otherwise stated). You should be familiar with the operation of your machine before class, please bring your manual if in doubt.

5. We are more than happy to help you in your selection of class materials, but please do so prior to class.

6. Some classes require a small amount of homework prior to the class. Please arrive prepared so that you can start on the fun part right away!

7. Class will start on time, so please arrive at least 10 minutes early and be set up and ready to go.

8. If you bring your cell phone to class please be considerate of others and put it on vibrate/silent prior to class. Please refrain from wearing perfumes, as some people have allergic reactions to scents. Also, if you bring a drink, please use a container with a lid.

Cancellations:

1. Most classes have a minimum enrollment of 4 students unless otherwise noted. If the class is cancelled due to low enrollment, you will be notified & all course fees will be returned in full (your choice of a refund or store credit).

2. If you can't attend a course, please cancel at least one week in advance. A store credit will be issued ONLY if you cancel at least seven (7) days before the course. Cancellations within a week of the course will NOT receive a store credit, though you may send a friend in your place.

The Beginning Quilting class is a great way to learn the basic fundamentals of quilting! This class is based off the book, 1st Time Quiltmaking. It will consist of four sessions that are each three hours long. You will learn basics of quilting such as, selecting and cutting fabric, using a rotary cutter, sewing an accurate 1/4 inch seam, and constructing a three rail quilt.

Come participate in a fun sewing day to help others in need! At our Creative Center we will be having a brief informational meeting about Days for Girls and then create sustainable feminine hygiene kits to donate to girls around the world. What to bring: sewing machine & sewing scissors Items to donate: washed quilters cotton, washed cotton flannel, hotel soap, 1/2-3/4 inch ribbon, new washcloths, quart size Ziploc freezer bags, new underwear for girls size 12/14 & new underwear for women size 5/6

Learning to Machine Quilt with your domestic sewing machine. This class is sponsored by The Pella Area Quilt Guild

Cost: $ 30.00
Grab a couple of girlfriends and join us for an evening of sewing and fun. We will offer a small project (for a small fee) but take this time to bring some of your own sewing projects to work on. Bring along your favorite bottle of wine and make it a night out with friends.

Hop aboard our van and visit 5 other Quilt Shops across Southern Iowa. Start with Early shopping at The Quilted Windmill with a Continental Breakfast. We will be stopping at Cindy Lou's Gifts and Quilts in Chariton. The next stop will be Quilt with Us in Lucas. Stop number 3 & 4 will be in Humeston, first at Snips of Thread for a little shopping then Grassroots Cafe for lunch. There will also be a little time to check out Snyders General Store. They are stocked full of treasures around every corner. Once we get back on the road our final town will be Winterset. Piece Works Quilt Shop and The Ben Franklin will round out our shopping trip, but there will also be time for the Iowa Quilt Museum. So grab a few friends and register for our first Organized Shop hop from The Quilted Windmill. We will have to have a minimum of 10 participants.
